Chester Arnold, extension educator and co-director of the Center for Land Use Education and Research at UConn, was awarded the Excellence in Extension Education Award for the Northeast Region at the Association of Public and Land-grant Universities (A۰P۰L۰U) recent 122nd Annual Meeting in Washington, D.C.

Arnold was recognized as co-founder of the Nonpoint Education for Municipal Officials (NEMO) project, a national award-winning program that uses remote sensing and geographic information systems technology to educate local land-use decision makers about the relationship between land use and water resource protection.
