Two dermatologists and two orthopaedic surgeons are now seeing patients.

Two dermatologists and two orthopaedic surgeons are among the physicians who recently joined the UConn Health Center.

Dr. Bruce Strober

Dr. Bruce Strober specializes in inflammatory diseases of the skin and is known internationally for his expertise in psoriasis. He joins UConn from the New York University Medical Center, where he was part of the faculty group practice and assistant professor in the NYU School of Medicine after completing a research fellowship in dermatopharmacology and a dermatology residency. He has both an MD and Ph.D. from the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. He is seeing patients by referral only.

Dr. Omar Ibrahimi

Dr. Omar Ibrahimi has joined the Department of Dermatology as director of cutaneous laser and cosmetic surgery. He has expertise in Mohs micrographic and reconstructive surgery, as well as laser and cosmetic surgery. Ibrahimi is fellowship trained in Mohs, laser and cosmetic surgery from the University of California-Davis. He completed his residency in dermatology at Harvard Medical School/Massachusetts General Hospital. He holds an MD/Ph.D. degree from the New York University School of Medicine.

Dr. Tessa Balach

Dr. Tessa Balach is among a small group of orthopaedic surgeons in the U.S. with specialized training in the management of musculoskeletal tumors, both adult and pediatric. She also has expertise in the treatment of patients with arthritis of the hip and knee. Balach is fellowship trained in orthopaedic oncology from the University of Chicago Medical Center, where she also completed her orthopaedic surgery residency. Her medical degree is from New York Medical College.

Dr. Isacc L. Moss

Dr. Isaac Moss, an expert spine surgeon, is seeing patients in Farmington, Southington and Avon. He specializes in advanced surgical management strategies for a range of acute spine problems as well as minimally invasive surgical techniques. Moss fellowship trained in spinal and scoliosis surgery at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, one of the country’s elite spine centers, completed an orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of Toronto, and earned his medical degree at McGill University in Montreal.
