As we mark Heart Disease Awareness Month, UConn Health researchers are performing groundbreaking studies specifically related to a woman’s heart health.

Dr. Annabelle Rodriguez-Oquendo, professor of cell biology and recipient of the Linda and David Roth Chair in Cardiovascular Research, is looking in to the genetic link between healthy HDL cholesterol, heart disease, and infertility in women.

During an interview on NBC Connecticut, Rodriguez-Oquendo describes how her discoveries have led to patented tests that will help predict a woman’s risk of cardiovascular disease and ability to conceive.
