In the wake of the tragic shooting in Newtown, Conn., that took the lives of 26 students and fellow teachers in 2012, Sandy Hook Elementary School teacher Kaitlin Roig-DeBellis ’05 (ED), ’06 MA has dedicated herself to teaching children to have an interest in the well-being of others.

In addition to her work in her own classroom, last year she founded Classes4Classes, a nonprofit organization focused on teaching kindness to students nationwide.

On March 5, she will give a public lecture in the Student Union Theatre at the Storrs campus at 7 p.m.
