With Senate confirmation hearings underway on the nomination of Elena Kagan to serve on the Supreme Court of the United States, UCONN Magazine editor Ken Best discusses the nomination process with David Yalof, associate professor of political science in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.

Yalof’s book, Pursuit of Justices: Presidential Politics and the Selection of Supreme Court Nominees, won the 1999 Newstadt Prize for Best Book on the Presidency from the American Political Science Association.
