UConn marked a milestone in the construction of the new Student Recreation Center with a topping off event Feb. 27, as the final beam was hoisted into place. The beam had been on display for several hours the previous day, so that members of the UConn community could sign their names on it, claiming a place in University history.
The three-story, 191,000-square-foot center on Hillside Road is slated to open in July 2019.
