UConn students danced their hearts out this past weekend at the annual 18-hour HuskyTHON and raised a record $1,520,234.98 to benefit the Connecticut Children’s Medical Center. That number topped the previous record of more than $1.3 million of last year.

More than 3,300 students in over 100 teams were part of the event, which was held in the Hugh S. Greer Field House.

Patient families from CCMC also were part of the event, including “miracle children” who have received treatment at the hospital. Each child was matched up with a student team.

The event first took place in 2000 and has multiplied its fundraising 100 times over since the inception.
