Stroke care at UConn Health continues to enjoy recognition from outside entities, acknowledging the UConn Health Stroke Center‘s effectiveness in prompt intervention, advanced treatment options, and methods to enhance recovery with minimal disability.

Two of the nurses behind the program’s success, Jennifer Sposito (clinical coordinator) and Brooke Medel (patient navigator), elaborate, with an explanation of the “BE FAST” acronym that’s key to salvaging healthy brain tissue in the race against the clock.
