The University of Connecticut’s American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS) student chapter has been selected as an AAPS Best Student Chapter Award winner 2021- 2022.

Suraj Fanse, Chair of UConn’s AAPS student chapter spoke on the organization’s mission for students. “The chapter serves to increase student awareness about pharmaceutical sciences, career opportunities, and foster outreach activities that further the values and goals of the AAPS. Through our efforts we encourage learning, leadership, service, and integrity while promoting diversity and inclusion.”

The AAPS is a professional, scientific organization with members across different disciplines of academia, pharmacy industries, government, and other related research institutes worldwide.

The work of UConn’s student chapter benefits not only their members, but UConn’s research as a whole. “The student chapter has worked especially hard to bring our student researchers together as a close-knit community with social as well as professional offerings.” School of Pharmacy Dean Philip Hritcko remarked. “[They provide] exceptional service to the next generation of scientists and pharmaceutical professionals.”
