Professor Xinyu Zhao Awarded $450,000 Grant to Conduct Aeronautical Combustion Research

UConn Students Design Sensory Board for Adam’s Adventure Playground
Three UConn biomedical engineering students are using their college education to assist a Tolland endeavor: the creation of a handicap-accessible playground at the Cross Farms Recreation Center. Seniors Alyssa Smith, Christine Wakefield and Danielle Napoli are designing a sensory board for the children to interact with at the playground as part of their senior design project.

Student Contributes to Tumor Detection Device
Umar Alqasemi, a graduate student advised by Dr. Quing Zhu in UConn's Optical and Ultrasound Imaging Laboratory, is working on technology that combines photo-acoustic imaging with ultrasound imaging to help physicians more accurately detect tumors.
