I\u2019m pleased to say that the most important conversations I\u2019ve had during my time at UConn have existed outside the classroom. The professors I\u2019m indebted to have challenged me to convert my critical thinking skills into real world application.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>As a UConn IDEA Grant recipient, what project did you pursue?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>My IDEA Grant was to create \u201cExsistentia,\u201d a multimedia literary journal focused on\u00a0addressing\u00a0existential questions through the art of\u00a0curation. One of the properties of art is that it reveals: we collect the minutiae of existence, hoping it equals something close to the sum of the whole.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Was there a defining moment during your time at UConn?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Most recently I was able to attend the College Union Poetry Slam Invitational. Being in such a large community of young artists was extremely emotionally fulfilling.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Where are you headed after\u00a0graduation?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Hopefully to many unforeseen places, but the goal right now is to earn a master\u2019s degree in education and teaching in an urban public school. I hope to learn how to be a teacher-student, and through that process, become involved in a community.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>What will you miss most about UConn?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>There are very few places, other than college, where you can join together so many unlike things. As students at UConn, we are privileged with access to a wealth of resources that most individuals don&#8217;t have. Where else can you get \u201cfree\u201d t-shirts, snacks, access to musical equipment, a global catalog of library collections, music and audio visual equipment, electronic resources, Wi-Fi, attend \u201cfree\u201d art galleries, colloquiums, dissertations, discussions, and cultural events?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Describe someone you\u2019ve met here who has already impacted your future.
