It is shown courtesy of the Fred Giampietro Gallery in New Haven.\u00a0Boothe, who lives in western Connecticut, has had more than 20 one-person exhibitions in New York City and nationally. The collections at the Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art and the New Britain Museum of American Art include his work, as do those of the Guggenheim Museum, the Museum of Modern art, and the Whitney Museum of American Art. Honors he has received include the Guggenhein Fellowship for Painting, a National Endowment Individual Artist\u2019s Fellowship, and a Pollock\/Krasner Fellowship.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_105393\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-105393\" style=\"width: 248px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"http:\/\/dev.today.uconn.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/LoPrestiA-400x314.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-105393 img-responsive lazyload\" data-src=\"http:\/\/dev.today.uconn.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/LoPrestiA-400x314-300x236.jpg\" alt=\"John Lo Presti\u2019s \u201cComposing the rectangle\u201d\" width=\"248\" height=\"195\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 248px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 248\/195;\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-105393\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">John Lo Presti\u2019s \u201cComposing the rectangle\u201d<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Also on display in the LeWitt Gallery <strong>Dec. 7 through March 3<\/strong> is John LoPresti\u2019s \u201cComposing the rectangle.\u201d LoPresti, of Wethersfield, has been painting for more than 35 years, often inspired by landscapes of his environment and travels throughout New England and Europe.\u00a0Many of LoPresti\u2019s pieces originate <em>en plein air<\/em> (in open air) with charcoal and pastel, leading to oil paintings on canvas. He\u2019s shown a particular fondness for the land and sea of Deer Isle, Maine, and rural Mediterranean Europe.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_105394\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-105394\" style=\"width: 271px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/dev.today.uconn.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/Reyburn_Page_1A-400x265.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-105394 img-responsive lazyload\" data-src=\"http:\/\/dev.today.uconn.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/Reyburn_Page_1A-400x265-300x199.jpg\" alt=\"Charles Reyburn\u2019s exhibition \u201cThe Seasons\u201d\" width=\"271\" height=\"180\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 271px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 271\/180;\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-105394\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Charles Reyburn\u2019s exhibition \u201cThe Seasons\u201d<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>From<strong> Dec. 10 through Feb. 29<\/strong>, New London native Charles Reyburn\u2019s \u201cThe Seasons\u201d is on display in the lobby and mezzanine. Reyburn is considered oof the rare <em>en plein air<\/em> in southeastern Connecticut, working his paintings through elements of nature rather than in a studio. His style has been compared to that of the impressionists of the past, capturing a scene\u2019s essence in a way that allows the viewer\u2019s imagination to work into the painting.\u00a0Reyburn attended the Rhode Island School of Design in the late 1970s. His work is included in the Lyman Allyn Art Museum\u2019s collection.<\/p>\n<p>The UConn Health Art Advisory Committee invites viewings from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.<\/p>\n<p>UConn Health\u2019s collection of fine art serves to enhance the environment and promote the sense of a caring community for patients, visitors, staff and students.
