{"id":108040,"date":"2016-01-05T12:28:17","date_gmt":"2016-01-05T17:28:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/today.uconn.edu\/?post_type=school-college-post&#038;p=108040"},"modified":"2016-01-05T12:28:17","modified_gmt":"2016-01-05T17:28:17","slug":"department-of-allied-health-sciences-launches-new-phd-in-health-promotion-sciences","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/today.uconn.edu\/2016\/01\/department-of-allied-health-sciences-launches-new-phd-in-health-promotion-sciences\/","title":{"rendered":"Department of Allied Health Sciences launches new PhD in health promotion sciences"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Department of Allied Health Sciences (AHS) is pleased to announce a new PhD degree program in Health Promotion Sciences.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are grateful that the University of Connecticut Board of Trustees recently approved a new PhD degree in the Department of Allied Health Sciences,\u201d says Cameron Faustman, associate dean and director. \u201cThis will benefit health-oriented students wishing to pursue the terminal research degree.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe final Board of Trustees approval marked a critical growth step for the department as we strengthen and grow our graduate program,\u201d says Nancy Bull, interim department head. \u201cLead by Dr. Valerie Duffy and Dr. Michael Copenhaver, faculty in the department worked for over a year to articulate the requirements and expectations of a new PhD program.
