Focused on sustainable gardening, this day-long conference will offer educational opportunities for home gardeners at all interest and skill levels: from casual gardeners to certified Master Gardeners.<\/p>\n<p>The program will include five invited speakers, plant and book sales, and opportunities to earn Master Gardener credits. Keynote speaker <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rosalindcreasy.com\/\"><strong>Rosalind Creasy<\/strong><\/a>, noted author, photographer, and lecturer, will give a talk on her concept of edible landscaping, including tips on how to cultivate and cook with produce from theme gardens.<\/p>\n<p>Other speakers include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Karen Bussolini<\/strong>, garden photographer and author, speaking on \u201cDesigning with Elegant Silvers\u201d<\/li>\n<li><strong>Steve Silk<\/strong>, photographer and travel writer, speaking on \u201cThe Crazy Mixed-Up Border: An Eclectic Approach to using Trees, Shrubs, Annuals, Tropicals, Edibles, and Perennials\u201d<\/li>\n<li><strong>Heather Crawford<\/strong>, environmental educator, speaking on \u201cGardening with Rain\u201d<\/li>\n<li><strong>Lois Berg Stack<\/strong>, University of Maine cooperative extension specialist, speaking on\u00a0 \u201cTwenty ways to Become a Greener Gardener\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Learn more by visiting the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hort.uconn.edu\/2010garden\">Garden Conference website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The Garden Conference is sponsored by UConn\u2019s College of Agriculture and Natural Resources, including the Ornamental Plant Extension and the Home Garden and Education Center. The conference will run from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Lewis B. Rome Commons on the UConn campus in Storrs, Conn.
