Yuvraj “Prince” Modi was born at UConn John Dempsey Hospital at 6 a.m. on Feb. 29, 2016, weighing in at 6 lbs. 4 oz. (Janine Gelinea\/UConn Health Photo)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

It\u2019s a boy! At UConn John Dempsey Hospital, Shivu Modi of Unionville, Conn., gave birth to her \u201cPrince\u201d named Yuvraj Modi on Feb. 29 at 6 a.m.<\/p>\n

The Leap Year baby weighed in at 6 lbs. 4 oz., and is 20 inches long. He arrived eight days early.<\/p>\n

Shivu and her husband Nish are overjoyed with the arrival of their baby boy.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut I hope the baby won\u2019t blame me for only having a birthday every four years,\u201d Shivu said. \u201cI am thinking once every four years we will definitely have to do something very grand for his birthday celebration.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s always going to remain young with a birthday only every four years,\u201d added Nish.<\/p>\n

Yuvraj\u2019s big sister, 5-year-old Jahnvi, can\u2019t wait to help her Mom start caring for her little brother.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy daughter has it all planned out,\u201d said Shivu. \u201cShe says she will feed the baby, but I will be in charge of changing the baby\u2019s diapers since she doesn\u2019t want to get her little hands dirty.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dr. Leah Kaye, fellow in reproductive endocrinology at UConn Health, delivered the baby, assisted by Dr. Jenny Grillo-Backman, a resident.<\/p>\n

\u201cMom and baby are doing well,\u201d said Kaye, noting that it was her first delivery of a Leap Year baby. \u201cEvery baby\u2019s delivery is a wonderful experience, but this made it all the more special. It will be one to remember.\u201d<\/p>\n
