\"\"How well can you play a game without knowing the rules?\u00a0 Albert Einstein, the father of modern physics, believed, \u201cYou have to learn the rules of the game.\u00a0 And then you have to play better than anyone else.\u201d\u00a0 Women have \u201ccome a long way, baby\u201d across a generation, demonstrating excellence in scholarship, leadership, and commitment and gaining access to historically non-traditional jobs and careers.\u00a0 So why, when women are in these positions that they are clearly qualified for, do they so often feel like fish out of water?\u00a0 As though some elusive dynamic is at work that they don\u2019t fully understand and feel powerless to influence.\u00a0 Why do they feel that way?\u00a0 Missing from their rigorous academic curriculum were the rules of the game of business.<\/p>\n

In her book, Play Like A Man Win Like A Woman<\/em>, Gail Evans, former CNN executive vice president, presents, in an insightful and entertaining manner, the rules of the game from her decades of experience working in the hyper-competitive, male-dominated media industry.\u00a0 An adjunct professor at Georgia Tech\u2019s School of Management teaching courses on Gender, Race and Ethnicity in Organizational Behavior, Gail says,\u00a0\u201cI want to let you women in on a secret I\u2019ve learned through my years in the corporate world: There is a set of unwritten rules in business and, while you may not choose to follow all of them, if you don’t know what they are, you might as well be playing the game with both hands tied behind your back.\u201d\u00a0 Play Like A Man Win Like A Woman <\/em>spent several months on the New York Times, Business Week, and Wall Street Journal\u2019s bestseller lists and has been consistently acknowledged as a category leader for more than a decade.<\/p>\n
