Fuller, a professor of traumatology and emergency medicine, has been serving as interim chair since May of last year.<\/p>\n<p>Along with his many responsibilities at UConn Health, Fuller has distinguished\u00a0himself as a volunteer with the International Medical Corps, a humanitarian organization that deploys doctors to disaster-ravaged areas to provide health care relief. He was named a \u201cCommunity Hero of Connecticut\u201d by the American Red Cross Connecticut Region, and a \u201cHealthcare Hero\u201d by the Connecticut Hospital Association for his relief work in Haiti following the January 2010 earthquake.<\/p>\n<p>Fuller received his medical degree from Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine and was named a Stritch School of Medicine Alumnus of the Year in 2012.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am thankful to the diligent effort by Dr. Brian Shames who chaired the search committee as well as to the committee members Drs.
