However, ten years ago Paterson began to explore expressing his painting representationally as he was intrigued on how light falls on and around horses. Three years ago he never thought of people as a focus for painting until he returned to life drawing during a group gathering one night in Branford.

Patterson’s painting, “Unposed”, is from his body of artwork that shows samples of people, unposed from local cities from Manhattan, New Haven, and Branford to even Barcelona, Spain.

Artist and art instructor, Dolores Howard, has been working with art for more than 25 years. Howard lives in Hartford with her family and is currently the art instructor for the local “Paint Night” in the town of Bloomfield. In addition, she teaches classes for multimedia drawing and creative exploration with watermedia.

Over the years, Howard has won several awards for her artwork. Howard’s painting “Color Sense and Energy” embodies visually her belief how art can enrich the human spirit.

“Color Sense and Energy” by Dolores Howard.

From June to September the artwork of local artists will be on display at UConn Health’s Celeste LeWitt Gallery.

[1868
[1873
post-113494","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-meds
"publishpress_future_workflow_manual_trigger":
["GET
