Junior Charlotte Veitner tied former Olympian Tracey Fuchs for second on UConn field hockey\u2019s all-time points list on Sunday, as the No. 3 Huskies picked up a big 5-1 road win over No. 9 Boston University.<\/p>\n
With her 12th goal of the season, Veitner ties Fuchs with 178 career points as a Husky and is only 36 points away from overtaking Lauren Henderson as the top point scorer in program history.<\/p>\n
Last week, Veitner, of Dusseldorf, Germany, set a new single-game scoring record with six goals in an 8-0 win over Virginia, and was named the Longstreth\/NFHCA Division I Offensive Player of the Week. Her six goals and 12 points against Virginia are both program records for a single game by a UConn field hockey player.<\/p>\n
Veitner,\u00a0a 2015 First Team All-American, led the nation in scoring in 2015, recording 39 goals and 21 assists for 99 total points.<\/p>\n
The Huskies (9-0, 2-0 Big East) remain undefeated this season. After nine matches, UConn has outshot opponents, 156-53, and outscored opponents per game, 4.56 goals to 0.89 goals.<\/p>\n
Four different UConn players scored against the Terriers at BU.<\/p>\n
