(Al Ferreira for UConn)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Board of Trustees Distinguished Professor\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/education.uconn.edu\/person\/scott-brown\/\">Scott Brown<\/a>\u00a0has been named head of the Department of Educational Psychology (EPSY) at the Neag School. He takes over these duties following the recent\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/education.uconn.edu\/2016\/12\/20\/del-siegle-named-associate-dean-for-research-and-faculty-affairs\/\">appointment of Professor Del Siegle as Associate Dean for Research and Faculty Affairs<\/a>\u00a0of the Neag School. Siegle had served as department head since 2011.<\/p>\n<p>Brown, who celebrated 35 years at UConn this past year, was designated a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/today.uconn.edu\/2014\/03\/board-of-trustees-names-three-faculty-distinguished-professors\/\">Board of Trustees Distinguished Professor<\/a>\u00a0\u2014\u00a0the highest honor bestowed upon UConn faculty \u2014 in 2014. He is an internationally recognized expert in learning and cognitive processing who studies problem-based learning environments as a context for learning across the age span. He also serves as co-director of the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/globaled2.com\/\">GlobalEd 2<\/a>\u00a0project and as the NCAA Faculty Athletics Representative for UConn.
