In honor of National Wear Red Day UConn and UConn Health’s campuses donned red clothing to raise awareness of cardiovascular disease, the number one killer of women in America. Wearing red also signals to each other the power each of us has individually in potentially preventing the majority of cardiovascular events such as heart attack\u00a0and stroke with a daily prescription of a healthy diet, exercise and no smoking.<\/p>\n

UConn Health\u2019s Pat and Jim Calhoun Cardiology Center <\/a>and the American Heart Association thank UConn Nation and Connecticut for their support in raising awareness.<\/p>\n

Make sure to share on social media how you chose to Go Red for Women with a photo using the hashtag #GoRedCT.<\/p>\n

Also, think about making a donation<\/a> to support the work of the Calhoun Cardiology Center advancing cardiovascular medicine breakthroughs and scientific research knowledge to improve patient outcomes in the state and beyond.<\/p>\n
