(Stephen Slade &#8217;89 (SFA) for UConn)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Following a trip to the Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, Calif. and a team training session at Duke University, both were selected on the 18-player tour roster for the team\u2019s upcoming international trip.<\/p>\n<p>From April 10 through 17, the U-21 U.S. Women&#8217;s National Team will play a four-match test series against the England team at Bisham Abbey in Berkshire, England, with the intent to give the team and its athletes elite-level exposure and build on the techniques practiced in prior trips.<\/p>\n<p>Umstead and Collins, All-Mideast Region selections this past season for UConn, will play on April 13 (4 p.m. UK local time), 14 (4 p.m. local), 16 (3 p.m. local) and 17 (10:30 a.m. local) with the U-21 team.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe U-21 group has had two excellent training camps to start 2017,\u201d said Phil Edwards, the U-21 head coach. \u201cWe have been able to name a squad for the test series with a good balance of experience and some fresh faces who will be gaining their first taste of hockey at this level. It\u2019s going to be exciting to see them compete on the international stage against England.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Collins and Umstead ranked second and third respectively on the UConn team, in goals scored and points during the 2016 season. (UConn Athletic Communications File Photo)<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/p>\n<p><strong>U.S. Women\u2019s National Team Note<br \/>\n<\/strong><br \/>\nIt was announced recently that former UConn standout Melissa Gonzalez will be playing with the U.S. Women\u2019s National Team against Ireland in a three-game set on American soil from May 24-27.
