{"id":124199,"date":"2017-04-10T09:26:14","date_gmt":"2017-04-10T13:26:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/today.uconn.edu\/?p=124199"},"modified":"2017-04-11T09:34:38","modified_gmt":"2017-04-11T13:34:38","slug":"21-students-alums-win-nsf-graduate-research-fellowships","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/today.uconn.edu\/2017\/04\/21-students-alums-win-nsf-graduate-research-fellowships\/","title":{"rendered":"Ten Students, Alums Win NSF Graduate Research Fellowships"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The National Science Foundation (NSF) recently named ten\u00a0University of Connecticut undergraduate and graduate students, and alumni to its prestigious graduate research fellowship program.<\/p>\n<p>NSF&#8217;s Graduate Research Fellowship Program recognizes and supports outstanding graduate students in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics who are pursuing research-based master&#8217;s and doctoral degrees.<\/p>\n<p>This academic year, UConn&#8217;s Graduate School and Office of National Scholarships and Fellowships launched an <a href=\"http:\/\/www.onsf.uconn.edu\/nfip\/\">incentive plan<\/a> to encourage faculty to take a more active role in advising students who are eligible to apply for prestigious, nationally competitive scholarships and fellowships.<\/p>\n<p>The oldest graduate fellowship of its kind, the program provides a\u00a0three-year annual stipend of $34,000 along with a $12,000 cost of education allowance.
