{"id":124936,"date":"2017-04-17T10:30:00","date_gmt":"2017-04-17T14:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/today.uconn.edu\/?post_type=school-college-post&#038;p=124936"},"modified":"2017-04-18T15:59:54","modified_gmt":"2017-04-18T19:59:54","slug":"ge-fellowship-recipient-feel-privileged","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/today.uconn.edu\/2017\/04\/ge-fellowship-recipient-feel-privileged\/","title":{"rendered":"GE Fellowship Recipient: \u2018I Feel Very Privileged\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>MBA Students Used Scholarships to Study Insurance, Monetary Theory and More<\/h2>\n<p>The four <a href=\"http:\/\/mba.uconn.edu\/\">UConn MBA<\/a> students who were awarded 2017 GE Global Fellow Scholarships to pursue their global business research interests presented their findings to faculty and administrators on April 7.<\/p>\n<p>The fellows include: <strong>Leonard Borriello<\/strong>, who researched strategy and compliance in exchange rate risk management; <strong>Nidhi Jaswal<\/strong> who presented on the changing face of the global insurance industry; <strong>Michael Ballard<\/strong> who studied new perspectives in monetary theory, and <strong>Milin Chhanechhara<\/strong> who explored the future of FinTech in P2P lending.<\/p>\n<p>Faculty advisors included: Professors <a href=\"http:\/\/www.business.uconn.edu\/person\/assaf-eisdorfer\/\"><strong>Assaf Eisdorfer<\/strong><\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.business.uconn.edu\/person\/mary-caravella\/\"><strong>Mary Caravella<\/strong><\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.business.uconn.edu\/person\/john-glascock\/\"><strong>John Glascock<\/strong><\/a> and Associate Dean <a href=\"http:\/\/www.business.uconn.edu\/person\/suresh-nair\/\"><strong>Suresh Nair<\/strong><\/a>. <strong>Monique Elliott<\/strong>, director of Global Digital Commerce at GE Energy Connections and a member of the <a href=\"http:\/\/global.business.uconn.edu\/ciber\/\">UConn Center for International Business Education and Research (CIBER)<\/a> Advisory Board, also attended the presentations.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I feel very privileged to have been a part of this,&#8221; Jaswal said following the presentations.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/global.business.uconn.edu\/ge-global-learning-center\/\">GE Global Learning Center<\/a> provides fellowships to UConn MBA students to conduct in-depth research on a project with a global component and then present a paper and their findings to administrators, MBA directors and faculty.
