Lori uses different techniques to apply multiple layers of paint that hide as well as expose deeper layers of personal vulnerability.\u00a0 Lori\u2019s award-winning work has been in numerous solo and juried group shows, printed in national art magazines and is represented in collections nationwide.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_126738\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-126738\" style=\"width: 419px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-126738 img-responsive\" src=\"https:\/\/today.uconn.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Simard.bmp\" alt=\"\" width=\"419\" height=\"264\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-126738\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photograph by Peter Simard<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Peter Simard, an award-winning photographer, spent 21 years in the field of photojournalism and documentary studies.\u00a0After years of seeing the hopeful and harsh sides of the human condition, Peter chose to turn his lens on the more peaceful subject matter of nature, landscape and urban decay. His photography today is very peaceful and otherworldly, often showing vibrant colors and reflections.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The art exhibits of both Lori Racicot-Burrous and Peter Simard will be shown at the Celeste LeWitt Gallery at UConn Health until Sept. 7, 2017.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>UConn Health\u2019s collection of fine art serves to enhance the environment and promote the sense of a caring community for patients, visitors, staff and students.
