{"id":132730,"date":"2017-12-14T15:10:06","date_gmt":"2017-12-14T20:10:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/today.uconn.edu\/?post_type=school-college-post&#038;p=132730"},"modified":"2017-12-14T15:12:32","modified_gmt":"2017-12-14T20:12:32","slug":"winter-art-warms-heart","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/today.uconn.edu\/2017\/12\/winter-art-warms-heart\/","title":{"rendered":"Winter Art That Warms Your Heart"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Elizabeth Sennett<\/strong> of East Hampton is equally adept in executing an oil painting or a watercolor.\u00a0 For over 40 years she has been painting and teaching her world; her flower gardens, the New England landscape, still life paintings and the people she knows.\u00a0 She was one of the founders of the East Hampton Art Association and continues to be very active in it. She has been program chairman for most of the 40 years the association has been in existence.\u00a0\u00a0Elizabeth attended the Lyme Academy of Fine Arts and the Connecticut School of Fine Art. She chooses to work in both narrative and nonrepresentational content.\u00a0 Key elements in her narrative work are animals, humor, and the graphic use of line. In her nonrepresentational art, color, line, pattern and the properties of the material and medium, are the sole focus of compositions. Elizabeth has a bachelor\u2019s of fine arts from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC) with a focus in drawing and printmaking.\u00a0 She has received many honors including honorable mention awards in Mystic Art Association\u2019s 45<sup>th<\/sup> Regional Juried Show and in the professional category for CRT\u2019s 2015 National Art\u2019s Program show in Connecticut.\u00a0 Elizabeth and her solo show, <em>Playful<\/em>\u00a0in the Barnes Franklin Gallery, was featured in the Greater Hartford Arts Council\u2019s blog, \u201cArtists Spotlight.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>The art exhibits of both Elizabeth Sennett and Elizabeth Ann McNally will be shown at the Celeste LeWitt Gallery at UConn Health until March 8, 2018.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>UConn Health\u2019s collection of fine art serves to enhance the environment and promote the sense of a caring community for patients, visitors, staff and students.
