He comes to the department as an international scholar armed with two doctoral degrees, a Ph.D. in power systems reliability from Tsinghua University in Beijing, China, and another in power systems simulation analysis from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada. Supported by several academic achievement scholarships during his lengthy tenure as a student, Dr. Zhang authored 16 published journal articles, six conference papers, and chapters in three textbooks. Additionally, he has completed seven major wind energy projects, including British Columbia\u2019s novel \u201cBear Mountain Wind Farm,\u201d boasting 34 turbines with a capacity of 102 megawatts, enough to power 29,000 homes.
