{"id":146007,"date":"2019-02-13T13:34:46","date_gmt":"2019-02-13T18:34:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/today.uconn.edu\/?post_type=school-college-post&#038;p=146007"},"modified":"2019-02-13T13:34:46","modified_gmt":"2019-02-13T18:34:46","slug":"minor-myers-joins-uconn-law-faculty","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/today.uconn.edu\/2019\/02\/minor-myers-joins-uconn-law-faculty\/","title":{"rendered":"Minor Myers Joins UConn Law Faculty"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Minor Myers, a leading expert in corporate law and governance, will join the faculty of UConn School of Law this fall as a tenured professor.<\/p>\n<p>Myers is currently a full professor at Brooklyn Law School, where he teaches courses on corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, and property. He has also been a visiting professor at Yale Law School.<\/p>\n<p>Dean Tim Fisher said, \u201cWe are deeply fortunate that Professor Myers has decided to come to UConn. He deepens our faculty strength in business law, and is a proven leader both in legal scholarship and in the academic community.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Much of Myers&#8217;s recent scholarship has focused on shareholder litigation and executive compensation, and he has also written and lectured extensively about corporate governance and the behavior of corporate directors. He is a national authority on key elements of Delaware\u2019s corporate law, and his research has been cited by the courts there.\u00a0 His academic work has been published and cited in a wide range of scholarly journals, and his research has attracted coverage in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and other publications.<\/p>\n<p>He is a graduate of Connecticut College and Yale Law School. Before joining the Brooklyn Law School faculty, he practiced in the corporate and litigation departments of Debevoise &amp; Plimpton in New York. He also clerked for Judge Ralph K. Winter and Judge Peter W. Hall of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am thrilled to join the faculty at UConn,\u201d Myers said. \u201cMy new faculty colleagues are scholars of the first rank, and they are equally devoted teachers and mentors. I am honored to join them.
