{"id":147696,"date":"2019-03-22T07:50:40","date_gmt":"2019-03-22T11:50:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/today.uconn.edu\/?p=147696"},"modified":"2019-03-22T10:44:30","modified_gmt":"2019-03-22T14:44:30","slug":"former-uconn-quarterback-dan-orlovsky-scores-touchdown-football-analysis","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/today.uconn.edu\/2019\/03\/former-uconn-quarterback-dan-orlovsky-scores-touchdown-football-analysis\/","title":{"rendered":"Former UConn Quarterback Dan Orlovsky Scores a Touchdown with Football Analysis"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>When UConn Football great Dan Orlovsky \u201917 (BGS) pictured returning to the Storrs campus, he never imagined it would be to talk about social media rather than football.<\/p>\n<p>Orlovsky, who led the Huskies to a win at their first bowl game, the 2004 Motor City Bowl, left UConn to play professionally for the NFL in 2005. He finished his degree in 2017, as his 12-year career in the NFL came to an end.<\/p>\n<p>After retiring from the NFL, Orlovsky was watching a football game on TV in November 2017 when he broke down a play for his wife. She encouraged him to film his explanation and post it to social media. After initially resisting \u2013 Orlovsky says he used to think social media was a waste of time \u2013 he did it. When he woke up the next morning, the video had been watched and shared thousands of times.<\/p>\n<p>Orlovsky found his niche.
