{"id":151911,"date":"2019-07-11T12:55:23","date_gmt":"2019-07-11T16:55:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/today.uconn.edu\/?post_type=school-college-post&#038;p=151911"},"modified":"2019-07-15T09:33:09","modified_gmt":"2019-07-15T13:33:09","slug":"sarah-woulfin-named-co-editor-educational-researcher","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/today.uconn.edu\/2019\/07\/sarah-woulfin-named-co-editor-educational-researcher\/","title":{"rendered":"Sarah Woulfin Named Co-Editor of Educational Researcher"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/education.uconn.edu\/person\/sarah-woulfin\/\">Sarah Woulfin<\/a>, associate professor in the Neag School\u2019s Department of Educational Leadership, has been <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aera.net\/Newsroom\/AERA-Highlights-E-newsletter\/AERA-Highlights-June-2019\/New-Editor-Team-to-Take-Helm-of-ER\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">named co-editor<\/a> of <em>Educational Researcher\u00a0<\/em>(<em>ER<\/em>) for 2019 to 2022.<\/p>\n<p>As the <a href=\"http:\/\/aera.net\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">American Educational Research Association<\/a>\u2019s premier journal, <em>ER<\/em>\u00a0publishes scholarly articles that are of general significance to the education research community and that come from a wide range of areas of education research and related disciplines.\u00a0The journal\u00a0seeks to make major programmatic research and new findings of broad importance widely accessible.<\/p>\n<p>According to Woulfin, the incoming editorial team\u2019s primary goal is to position <em>ER\u00a0<\/em>as a hub for the distribution and integration of knowledge about education and educational improvement. In so doing, they aim to extend <em>ER<\/em>\u2019s already considerable reach (impact factor = 4.0) by highlighting scholarship and ideas that draw upon multiple disciplinary and methodological perspectives. They also aim to solidify the journal\u2019s position as the go-to venue on issues that are timely and relevant to a broad range of educational stakeholders, policymakers, and practitioners across the United States and around the world.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cThe editorial team is dedicated to adopting innovations to expand the reach and impact of<em> [Educational Researcher]<\/em>\u00a0to the broader public.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Associate Professor Sarah Woulfin<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>\u201cI am particularly excited about opportunities for <em>ER\u00a0<\/em>to push the field\u2019s thinking on cutting-edge qualitative methods, big data and analytics in education, and research-practice partnership approaches,\u201d Woulfin says. \u201cThe editorial team is dedicated to adopting innovations to expand the reach and impact of <em>ER\u00a0<\/em>to the broader public.
