A typical day for Jenn Suozzo \u201999 (CLAS) starts around 8 a.m. and doesn\u2019t end until Lester Holt, who anchors \u201cNBC Nightly News,\u201d signs off at 7 p.m. But that\u2019s only when no crisis intervenes.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cI always feel like we\u2019re on 24\/7. News happens all the time,\u201d says Suozzo, who was named executive producer of \u201cNightly News\u201d in October after serving as interim EP since July. She remembers the logistical challenges of a recent spring Sunday night, when tornadoes slammed the South, causing multiple fatalities. \u201cLester was in California, and we needed to get him from California to the South to cover the tornadoes because there were so many people who lost their lives,\u201d she recalls. \u201cThose stories stay with you.\u201d<\/p>\n
