A renowned expert in education law who <a href=\"https:\/\/today.uconn.edu\/2013\/03\/education-law-expert-preston-green-iii-joins-uconn-faculty\/\">joined the Neag School\u2019s Department of Educational Leadership in 2013<\/a>, Green also holdsa joint appointment in UConn\u2019s School of Law.<\/p>\n<p>In\u00a0addition\u00a0to disseminating his work via many high-caliber\u00a0scholarly\u00a0journals and five published books, Green has his research\u00a0cited\u00a0regularly in national publications\u00a0that include\u00a0<em>The Washington Post,\u00a0Business\u00a0Insider, The Atlantic,\u00a0<\/em>and <em>American\u00a0Prospect.\u00a0<\/em>He\u00a0also is consistently interviewed by and quoted in\u00a0a broad range of\u00a0prominent media outlets,\u00a0among them\u00a0<em>The New\u00a0York Times, The Wall\u00a0Street Journal,\u00a0Chalkbeat, <\/em>and the<em>\u00a0Boston Globe, <\/em>while also writing and co-writing original pieces for such outlets as <a href=\"https:\/\/theconversation.com\/is-charter-school-fraud-the-next-enron-74020\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em>The Conversation<\/em><\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/tcf.org\/content\/report\/advancing-intentional-equity-charter-schools\/?agreed=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Century Foundation<\/a>. Green, whose expertise centers on the areas in which education and law intersect, publishes and presents on the topics of charter schools, educational policy, and school choice. A 2017 paper he co-authored titled \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/papers.ssrn.com\/sol3\/papers.cfm?abstract_id=2924886\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Are Charter Schools the Second Coming of Enron?<\/a>\u201d has led Green to become one of the go-to experts in the nation on the oversight of charter schools.<\/p>\n<p>At UConn, Green helped develop the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/ucapp.education.uconn.edu\/law\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">UConn Administrator Preparation Program in Law<\/a>,\u00a0which enables participants to obtain a law degree and school administrator certification at the same time. There, similar to his endeavors at UConn, he created Penn State\u2019s joint degree in law and education. He also ran a professional development program on educational law known as the Law and Education Institute at Penn State.
