FASCP has been named Interim Associate Dean for Admissions and Student Affairs in the UConn School of Pharmacy.<\/p>\n<p>In announcing this appointment, <a href=\"https:\/\/today.uconn.edu\/school-stories\/philip-hritcko-appointed-uconn-school-of-pharmacy-interim-dean\/\">Interim Dean Philip Hritcko<\/a> said, \u201cI am thrilled to have Kevin Chamberlin on my team as Interim Associate Dean for Admissions &amp; Student Affairs. I have had many opportunities to work with Kevin through the years and he is extremely passionate about the profession of pharmacy and our School. His integrity and energy will be welcomed in his new role.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Most recently, Chamberlin has been Assistant Department Head and Associate Clinical Professor of Pharmacy Practice in the Department of Pharmacy Practice. He has served as the Pharmacy Residency Program Director at John Dempsey Hospital at UConn Health since 2012.<\/p>\n<p>A 2003 graduate of the UConn School of Pharmacy, where he received his Pharm.D., Chamberlin subsequently completed an American Society of Health Systems Pharmacists accredited specialty residency in Geriatric Pharmacy Practice. He is an APhA Certified Immunization Specialist and holds a teaching and learning certificate from the UConn School of Pharmacy.<\/p>\n<p>In 2019, Chamberlin was named recipient of the Louis P. Jaffrey Award from the Eastern States Conference for Pharmacy Residents and Preceptors. This award is presented annually to an Eastern States Conference Peceptor for distinguished service to the profession and commitment to residency training. \u00a0He received the Dean Robert L. McCarthy Faculty Service award from the School of Pharmacy in 2018, and was named recipient of the UConn School of Pharmacy\u2019s Advanced Practice Pharmacy Experience (APPE) Faculty Preceptor of the Year award in 2017 and 2007.<\/p>\n<p>Chamberlin developed and implemented the formal 360-degree teaching evaluation process within the Department of Pharmacy Practice that has been in use since 2011.<\/p>\n<p>While in his new role, he will continue his work precepting students in internal medicine, directing the PGY1 residency program, and practicing in his grant-funded pain clinic at UConn Health.<\/p>\n<p>When asked about his appointment, Chamberlin said, \u201cI am grateful to be joining our exciting leadership team with the\u00a0opportunity to\u00a0contribute to\u00a0the positive transformation of pharmacy education at the top School of Pharmacy in New England.\u00a0I am enthusiastic about helping students succeed. My passion for learning and student development will\u00a0further contribute to\u00a0enhancements to our\u00a0recruitment plan for the professional degree program.
