In high school, Maia Moscova suffered from a concussion. The effects of her injury lasted for months and inspired her to follow a path to provide care to others. Currently a sophomore in allied health sciences, she is interested in becoming a physician\u2019s assistant. What attracted you to the UConn College of Agriculture, Health and Natural Resources?<\/strong><\/p>\n I was first accepted to UConn as a biology major. I came in wanting to be a physician\u2019s assistant. Over the summer, I spoke to an advisor to ask if biology was the right path because I wasn\u2019t sure. She told me that a lot of people on that track join allied health sciences in CAHNR. I looked into it more and did my research and it seemed perfect for me, so I applied and got in!<\/p>\n What is your major, and why did you choose it?<\/strong><\/p>\n I\u2019m in the standard plan<\/a> in allied health sciences because I\u2019m interested in becoming a physician\u2019s assistant.<\/p>\n Which one of your UConn activities, internships or jobs was the most memorable? Why?<\/strong><\/p>\n I went to Haiti this past summer as part of the club Huskies for Haiti<\/a>. Eleven other students and I went on a medical mission trip for two and a half weeks and it was an experience that I won\u2019t ever forget. Being in a third world country and treating the less fortunate was eye opening. We went to two rural clinics and treated people with all types of conditions, including high blood pressure, brain tumors and HIV.<\/p>\n
