{"id":158230,"date":"2020-02-11T07:52:03","date_gmt":"2020-02-11T12:52:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/today.uconn.edu\/?post_type=school-college-post&#038;p=158230"},"modified":"2020-02-11T07:52:03","modified_gmt":"2020-02-11T12:52:03","slug":"second-year-row-school-nursing-recognized-supporting-veterans","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/today.uconn.edu\/2020\/02\/second-year-row-school-nursing-recognized-supporting-veterans\/","title":{"rendered":"For Second Year in a Row, School of Nursing Recognized for Supporting Veterans"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>For the second year in a row, the School of Nursing was recognized by UConn\u2019s Office of Veterans Affairs and Military Programs for collecting the most donations to the 7th Annual Homeless Veteran Care Package Drive.<\/p>\n<p>The school\u2019s team \u2013 \u201cNursing Our Veterans\u201d \u2013 worked from November 4 to December 6, 2019, to collect items to be donated to organizations that provide housing, training, job placement, and other services to the homeless and those in need, with a focus on veterans. Items collected included hygiene items, household supplies, clothing, and food items.<\/p>\n<p>Led by staff members, the entire School of Nursing community \u2013 including staff, faculty, and students \u2013 contributed to the effort.
