UConn students danced their hearts out this past weekend at the annual 18-hour HuskyTHON and raised a record $1,520,234.98 to benefit the Connecticut Children\u2019s Medical Center. That number topped the previous record of more than $1.3 million of last year.<\/p>\n

More than 3,300 students in over 100 teams were part of the event, which was held in the Hugh S. Greer Field House.<\/p>\n

Patient families from CCMC also were part of the event, including \u201cmiracle children\u201d who have received treatment at the hospital. Each child was matched up with a student team.<\/p>\n

The event first took place in 2000 and has multiplied its fundraising 100 times over since the inception.<\/p>\n
