Through this program, the OVPR is able to provide up to $50,000 to UConn faculty to support innovative and collaborative research proposals that will lead to new proposals for extramural funding in microbiome research.<\/p>\n<h3><strong><u>The 2020 Microbiome Research Seed Grant awardees:<\/u> <\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Jonathan Klassen<\/strong>, Molecular and Cell Biology<br \/>\n<em>Metal-Binding Antimicrobial Peptide Mediation of a Fungus-Growing Ant Symbiosis<\/em><br \/>\n<strong>Co-PIs:<\/strong> Alfredo Angeles-Boza<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mark Peczuh<\/strong>, Chemistry<br \/>\n<em>Characterizing the Role of Siderophores in the Euprymna Scolopes \u2013 Vibrio Fischeri Symbiosis<\/em><br \/>\n<strong>Co-PIs:<\/strong> Spencer Nyholm<\/p>\n<p><strong>J.
