UConn’s Board of Trustees recently approved the following promotions among School of Pharmacy faculty in recognition of their continued high quality contributions to the academic mission of the University.<\/p>\n

\"Phil<\/a>

Bodhisattwa (Bodhi) Chaudhuri, Ph.D.<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0has been promoted from associate professor to professor in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences<\/a>.<\/p>\n

He currently holds associate professor positions in the Departments of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, and Institute of Material Sciences (IMS) at UConn. Formally trained in chemical and mechanical engineering disciplines, Chaudhuri focuses on solving problems of pharmaceutical significance with engineering approaches.<\/p>\n

Chaudhuri came to UConn in 2007 as assistant professor, in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Institute of Materials Science. His research focus is on: pharmaceutical technology, multi-scale modeling of pharmaceutical and biomedical systems, transport phenomena in complex fluids, discrete element method, powder technology, artificial intelligence, and 3D printing.<\/p>\n

He currently acts as an editorial board member for Advanced Powder Technology<\/em>, Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences<\/em> and several other international journals in the areas of fluid mechanics, drug design, pharmaceutical sciences, pharmacokinetics and chemical engineering.<\/p>\n

Philip (Phil) Hritcko, Pharm.D.<\/strong><\/a>, has been promoted from associate clinical professor to clinical professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice.<\/p>\n

Hritcko came to UConn in 2003 and took the role of assistant dean for Experiential Education and assistant clinical professor and was then promoted to associate clinical professor in 2011. \u00a0In 2015, he was appointed associate dean for admissions & student affairs and in 2019 he became interim dean for the School of Pharmacy<\/a>. Hritcko’s clinical focus has been in community pharmacy and as a certified anticoagulation care provider (CACP) in an ambulatory care practice setting.<\/p>\n

Hritcko is an active member of the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP) where he was Speaker of the House of Delegates from 2013-15.\u00a0 He is also an AACP Fellow and participated in the 2008-2009 AACP Academic Leadership Fellows Program and is a past chair of the AACP Experiential Education Section. In addition, he is an active member and past president of the Connecticut Pharmacists Association.<\/p>\n

Diana Sobieraj, Pharm.D.<\/strong><\/a>, has been promoted from assistant professor to associate professor with tenure in the Department of Pharmacy Practice<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Sobieraj came to UConn in 2007 and is a leading member of UConn’s Health Outcomes, Policy, and Evidence Synthesis (HOPES<\/a>) group which codifies collective strength in outcomes research including systematic review and meta-analysis, economic modeling, clinical trials, and observational research. In 2017, Dr. Sobieraj received the esteemed\u00a0New Investigator Award<\/a> from the American College of Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP) for her research program. Her teaching expertise includes evidence-based clinical practice, drug literature evaluation , and adult internal medicine. Her practice site is at Hartford Hospital.<\/p>\n

The new roles will go into effect on August 23, 2020.<\/p>\n
