K. Anson Ma, CBE )<\/strong><br \/>\nGenentech<br \/>\n3D printing of drug laden tablets<br \/>\n12\/01\/2020 $150,000<\/p>\n<p><em>The goal of study is to explore different 3D printing techniques for manufacturing tablets and fabricate tablets at desired drug loadings and investigate the properties of these dosage form. &#8211; Dr. Chaudhuri<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Na Li, Ph.D.<\/strong><br \/>\nCenter for Pharmaceutical Processing Research<br \/>\nCPPR: Continuous and scalable manufacture of redispersible nanoparticles<br \/>\n11\/19\/2020 $90,000<\/p>\n<p><em>The major goal of this project is to study the formation and spray drying stability of soft nanoparticles. We are identifying particle growth mechanisms in the solution and solid states and the impact of particle property, stabilizer choice, and processing conditions on particle stability. &#8211; Dr. Li<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Xiuling Lu, Ph.D.<\/strong><br \/>\nBausch Health<br \/>\nIn Vitro Drug Release Assessment for Semi-Solid Products<br \/>\n12\/01\/2020 $30,000<\/p>\n<p><em>The goal of this project is to evaluate in vitro drug release from ophthalmic ointments. &#8211; Dr. Lu<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Xiuling Lu, Ph.D. and Robin Bogner, Ph.D.<\/strong><br \/>\nJanssen Pharmaceuticals<br \/>\nCryopreservation of T cells with exploration of cell freeze drying<br \/>\n11\/20\/2020 $409,797<\/p>\n<p><em>The goal of this project is to investigate the impact of cryopreservation and freeze-drying of Jurkat T cells on cell membrane integrity and viability. &#8211; Dr. Lu<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Department of Pharmacy Practice<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Nathaniel Rickles, Ph.D., BCPP<\/strong><br \/>\nDHHS\/SAMHSA\/Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration\/CT Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services<br \/>\nAcamdemic Detailing on Opioid Safety in CT<br \/>\n10\/20\/2020 $128,000<\/p>\n<p><em>This is a grant that supports 1:1 educational outreach visits, on opioid safety topics (prescription drug monitoring program, naloxone, medication-assisted treatments, and new modules to be developed) between trained Connecticut health district staff and pharmacists and prescribers in their health districts.
