A message from Kathryn Libal, Director of the Human Rights Institute:<\/strong><\/p>\n

We are excited to announce that the Thomas J. Dodd Research Center\u2019s outreach and engagement program has joined the Human Rights Institute. It has been renamed Dodd Human Rights Impact. Dr. Glenn Mitoma<\/a>, Assistant Professor in Education and Human Rights, serves as the Director of Dodd Impact and Nana Amos<\/a> is the Program Manager. We look forward to collectively expanding and deepening the work of human rights education, research, and outreach and engagement at UConn through joining our endeavors.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

The Thomas J. Dodd Research Center outreach program is now Dodd Human Rights Impact.<\/p>\n

Dodd Human Rights Impact fosters a culture of human rights\u00a0at UConn, in Connecticut, and around the world.<\/p>\n

Twenty five years after the dedication of the Thomas J. Dodd Research Center, we are relaunching the human rights outreach and engagement programs of the Center as Dodd Human Rights Impact<\/em><\/strong>.\u00a0 In making this change, we are preparing for the next generation of human rights at UConn, which goes beyond traditional archival research to embrace the range of programs and initiatives that seek to directly impact communities by helping them to meet their human rights challenges.<\/p>\n

\"\"In addition to continuing to honor the legacy of Senator Thomas Dodd and his service as executive trial counsel to the International Military Tribunal at Nuremberg, Dodd Impact recognizes the ongoing support of the entire Dodd family to human rights programming at UConn.<\/p>\n

In particular, Dodd Impact honors and extends the human rights legacy of Senator Christopher J. Dodd who has worked tirelessly on behalf of the people of Connecticut, and for peace and justice at home and around the world. \u00a0Chris Dodd was essential to the founding of the Dodd Center and continues as one of Dodd Impact\u2019s most important champions.<\/p>\n

To build on and leverage the synergies of UConn\u2019s human rights programs, Dodd Impact joins the\u00a0Human Rights Institute (HRI)<\/a> to create one of the most dynamic centers of human rights teaching, research, and engagement anywhere in the world.\u00a0 As part of HRI, Dodd Impact connects the energy and expertise of human rights faculty and students to community in Connecticut and around the world.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Thomas J. Dodd Research Center\u00a0building will continue to be the physical home of\u00a0Archives & Special Collections<\/a>, the\u00a0Center for Judaic Studies and Contemporary Jewish Life<\/a>, and the\u00a0Human Rights Institute<\/a>.<\/p>\n
