The 2022 World\u2019s Best Hospitals<\/a> as ranked by Newsweek and Statista have been announced, and UConn John Dempsey Hospital<\/a> is on the list. UConn Health\u2019s hospital is one of only four hospitals in Connecticut to be named a World\u2019s Best Hospital.<\/p>\n

The goal of the annual World’s Best Hospitals ranking, <\/em>now in its fourth year, is to provide the best data-based comparison of hospital reputation and performance across countries.<\/p>\n

\u201cConsistency in excellence is the hallmark of these institutions,\u201d says Nancy Cooper, Newsweek\u2019s <\/em>Global Editor in Chief. \u201cWe hope this will be useful not only to patients and families seeking the best care for themselves and loved ones, but also to hospitals as they benchmark themselves against their peers during a period of unprecedented change.\u201d<\/p>\n

Newsweek and Statista developed a rigorous methodology for its ranking of every hospital in each country with a score only comparable between hospitals in the same country. Scores are based on three data sources including medical expert hospital recommendations by peers via a large international online survey, patient experience satisfaction surveys, and key hospital performance indicators such as patient safety, hygiene measures, and quality of treatment.<\/p>\n

Hospitals in the following 27 countries were ranked: the United States, Germany, Japan, South Korea, France, Italy, United Kingdom, Spain, Brazil, Canada, India, Australia, Mexico, The Netherlands, Austria, Thailand, Switzerland, Sweden, Belgium, Finland, Norway, Denmark, Israel, Singapore, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, and Colombia.<\/p>\n
