The UConn field hockey team won the 1981 NCAA Championship, the first-ever sponsored for a woman\u2019s sport. The championship game was played at Memorial Stadium in Storrs, which is now the site of the women\u2019s basketball practice floor at the Werth Family Basketball Champions Center.<\/p>\n
