The University of Connecticut will test its emergency notification and alerting system, UConnALERT, on Tuesday, January 31 at 12:25 p.m<\/strong>., on all campuses.<\/p>\n

The test involves multiple messaging platforms. A notice will be posted on the UConn Alert website (alert.uconn.edu<\/a>); an email will be sent to all students, faculty, and staff; and posts will appear on the University\u2019s Facebook<\/a> and Twitter<\/a> accounts.<\/p>\n

In addition, cell phone numbers registered with the UConnALERT system will receive text messages. On the Storrs campus only, outdoor sirens will be tested with an audible tone.<\/p>\n

This test includes emergency notifications at UConn Health in addition to the Storrs and regional campuses.<\/p>\n

In an actual emergency, information will be updated regularly through the UConn Alert website at alert.uconn.edu<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Students, faculty, and staff should visit this site to register for cell phone text alerts, update their contact information, and obtain information related to emergency procedures and campus safety.<\/p>\n
