Associate clinical professor of pharmacy practice Dr. Marissa Salvo received the Distinguished Achievement in Service Award on Sunday, March 26, at the American Pharmacists Association (APhA) Annual Meeting.<\/p>\n
The award is given to someone who has made significant and sustained contributions in the area of service to their community, their state, or on the national level. Service activities can include community service, service to the profession, and service to APhA. The awardee also has mentored and inspired individuals to participate in service activities and through their leadership have contributed to the development of future advocates for the profession.<\/p>\n
\u201cEvery year at the APhA Annual Meeting, I am inspired by each awardee for their significant and ongoing contributions to pharmacy practice, education, management, precepting and mentoring, research, and service,\u201d says Salvo. \u201cTheir dedication, enthusiasm, and drive invigorates me as I return home and engage in similar endeavors. I am truly honored to be receiving the 2023 APhA-APPM Distinguished Achievement Award for Service and joining the incredible group of APhA award recipients.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI would like to thank my nominators and the awards committee for selecting me to receive this distinction. I look forward to continued service to the association in the years to come. Thank you to the students, residents, and colleagues, I have worked with over the years. You energize and inspire me to continue my service pursuits, setting an example for others.
