{"id":197359,"date":"2023-04-25T07:30:36","date_gmt":"2023-04-25T11:30:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/today.uconn.edu\/?p=197359"},"modified":"2023-04-21T12:44:00","modified_gmt":"2023-04-21T16:44:00","slug":"neag-school-top-25-public-graduate-school-of-education","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/today.uconn.edu\/2023\/04\/neag-school-top-25-public-graduate-school-of-education\/","title":{"rendered":"Neag School Named a Top 25 Public Graduate School of Education"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>UConn\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/education.uconn.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Neag School of Education<\/a> appears for the eighth consecutive year as one of the top 25 public graduate schools of education in the United States, tied at No. 22, per the 2023-2024 <em>U.S. News &amp; World Report\u00a0<\/em>rankings released earlier today.<\/p>\n<p>Among all graduate schools of education across the nation, the Neag School stands tied at No. 31, while its special education program is tied at No. 17 in the <em>U.S. News<\/em> 2023-2024 specialty program category rankings.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRecognition as one of the nation\u2019s leading graduate schools of education is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our faculty, staff, and students here at the Neag School of Education,&#8221; Dean Jason G. Irizarry says. &#8220;We prepare teachers, school administrators, research scholars, counselors and school psychologists, sport management professionals, and leaders who live out our mission \u2014 to improve educational and social systems to be more effective, equitable, and just for all \u2014 and tackle the important issues facing our communities.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>In fall 2022 and early 2023, <em>U.S. News<\/em> collected statistical and reputation data from education schools nationwide that grant doctoral degrees in education; of 459 schools surveyed, 276 responded. Nine different indicators, including total research expenditures, student selectivity, and assessment scores by peers, are used in the rankings calculations.
