{"id":201367,"date":"2018-02-13T11:53:08","date_gmt":"2018-02-13T16:53:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/today.uconn.edu\/?p=201367"},"modified":"2023-07-17T11:58:13","modified_gmt":"2023-07-17T15:58:13","slug":"thomas-levine-named-associate-editor-of-teaching-and-teacher-education","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/today.uconn.edu\/2018\/02\/thomas-levine-named-associate-editor-of-teaching-and-teacher-education\/","title":{"rendered":"Thomas Levine Named Associate Editor of Teaching and Teacher Education"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Associate Professor\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/education.uconn.edu\/person\/thomas-levine\/\">Thomas Levine<\/a>\u00a0in the Neag School\u2019s Department of Curriculum and Instruction has been named an associate editor of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.journals.elsevier.com\/teaching-and-teacher-education\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Teaching and Teacher Education<\/em><\/a><em>\u00a0(TATE)<\/em>, an international, multidisciplinary journal concerned primarily with\u00a0teachers,\u00a0teaching, or\u00a0teacher education.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>Teaching and Teacher Education<\/em>\u00a0aims to provide scholars and practitioners of teacher education with insights about teachers, about teaching, and about methods of helping pre- and in-service teachers to improve their work,\u201d Levine says. \u201cIt has an interdisciplinary and international focus; authors work to contextualize their studies or frame them in ways that speak beyond the specific national context or discipline. The result has been an important contribution to the research base that supports teaching and teacher development.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Levine says he expects that this role will allow him to make an important contribution to his field while serving as a steward helping the publication of worthwhile research.
