Honors<\/em><\/p>\n

Human development and family studies associate professor Kari Adamsons<\/strong> received the 2023 Best New Professional Research Article Award from the National Council on Family Relations and the Men in Families Focus Group Award Review Committee for her paper, A Personal and Relational Model of Father Identity Construction, published in the Journal of Family Theory & Review<\/em>. \u00a0She co-authored the paper with doctoral student Hilal Kascul<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Marissa Salvo<\/strong>, associate Clinical Professor of pharmacy practice, received the Vanguard Leadership Award in July during the 2023 Lambda Kappa Sigma Convention . This award recognizes an alumni member who has made sustained exemplary contributions in their area of professional practice, and\/or in professional associations, regulatory boards, and in the community, emphasizing service to others, innovations, and entrepreneurial spirit.<\/p>\n

Celebration of Life<\/em><\/p>\n

A celebration of life for Jorge Ag\u00fcero<\/strong> will be held on Thursday, Sept. 7, at 5 p.m., at the Alumni House in Storrs. Ag\u00fcero was an associate professor of economics and El Instituto, who passed away in the spring. For more details, visit econ.uconn.edu\/rsvp\/.<\/p>\n

Susan Chartier<\/strong>, 73, of East Killingly, Conn., a retired employee of the CAHNR Dean\u2019s Office, on June 1.<\/p>\n

Jean DeCicco<\/strong>, 93, of Stafford Springs, Conn, a retired secretary, on Aug. 10.<\/p>\n

Tatiana Gotcheva<\/strong>, 62, of West Hartford, Conn., a former adjunct professor in mathematics, on Aug. 15.<\/p>\n

Gerald O\u2019Brien<\/strong>, 91, of Charles Town, W.Va., a retired history professor of 32 years, on July 21.<\/p>\n

Michael Rubino<\/strong>, 71, of Avon, Conn., a former UConn Health employee from 1978-97, who served as the Director of Pharmacy for nine years, on Aug. 14.<\/p>\n

Sheila Tschinkel<\/strong>, 82, of Atlanta, an economic professor from 1967-68, on Aug. 9.<\/p>\n

Michael Turvey<\/strong>, 81, of Mansfield, Conn., a retired psychology professor, on Aug. 12.<\/p>\n
