Keith Bessette<\/strong> (B.S., M.S. Computer Science, \u201802, \u201803; MBA, \u201810) and Nick Jaensch (B.S. Marketing \u201908; MBA, \u201910), co-founders of the social networking website Shizzlr.com, won the 2010 Connecticut State Collegiate Business Plan Competition in venture enterprise.\u00a0 Shizzlr.com, located in New Haven\u2019s Science Park, is a web and mobile application that allows members to access Facebook to see social events and locales within a locale, explore who plans to visit them, and then share plans with networked friends via group conversations.\u00a0 In 2000, Keith co-founded EStorrs.com, a university-based social network at UConn that preceded the ubiquitous social networking sites.\u00a0 He also co-founded Mobile Link Solutions in 2004, a mobile workforce application for field technicians.<\/p>\n

T. Scott Case<\/strong> (B.S. Computer Science & Engineering, \u201892), was appointed CEO of the Startup America Partnership<\/a>, a private-sector alliance launched by the White House in January to celebrate and accelerate entrepreneurship.\u00a0 Read his recent interview<\/a> with the Nashville Business Journal<\/em>. Scott also remains active in his roles as CEO of Malaria No More<\/a> and Chairman of Network for Good<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Christopher Klesch<\/strong> (B.S. Mechanical Engineering, \u201807) works as a Process Engineer at Mott Corporation, a world leader in the manufacture of diverse porous metal products, based in Farmington, CT.<\/p>\n

Peter H. Lewis<\/strong> (B.S. Mechanical Engineering and Materials Engineering, \u201883; MBA, \u201888) joined BioScale Inc., as Vice President of Finance and Administration. He is responsible for the finance, accounting, IT, human resources and facilities functions for the company.<\/p>\n

Michael J. McKeon<\/strong> (B.S. Mechanical\/Materials Engineering, \u201890), principal at the law firm Fish & Richardson in Washington, DC, serves as the co-chair of the Patent and Trademark Office Committee of the Federal Circuit Bar Association and on the International Trade Commission Committee of the Intellectual Property Owners Association.<\/p>\n

Yingli Wen<\/strong> (M.S., Ph.D. Electrical Engineering, \u201889,\u00a0 \u201893), who is a researcher with Con Edison of New York, received a prestigious Technology Transfer Award from the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) for developing a device that protects utility workers from arcing faults in manholes.
