Electrical Engineering, &#8217;80) was appointed CEO of MorphoTrust USA, Billerica, MA.\u00a0 The company was established in July 2011 from the acquisition of L-1 Identity Solutions by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.safran-group.com\/?lang=en\">Safran<\/a>.\u00a0 Mr. Eckel will lead the former L-1 Biometric, Secure Credentialing and Enrollment Services businesses in the U.S. He will manage these businesses under a Proxy Board pursuant to an agreement developed with the U.S. government.\u00a0 Previously serving as president of L-1\u2019s Secure Credentialing Division, Mr. Eckel joined L-1 in August 2008 as part of the acquisition of Digimarc, where he served as president of Digimarc\u2019s Identity System business since August of 2005. Prior to joining Digimarc, he served as vice president and general manager, Air Traffic Management Systems, for Raytheon Company.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/pub\/john-mcgrane\/34\/509\/a77\">John McGrane<\/a><\/strong> (B.S. Civil Engineering, &#8217;78), P.E., \u00a0joined <a href=\"http:\/\/www.geiconsultants.com\/\">GEI<\/a> as a senior consultant in the company\u2019s Hartford office after spending more than 20 years in the Department of Public Works for the City of Hartford. Based in GEIs Hartford office, he has extensive experience with public and private sector perspectives on infrastructure management and has been immersed in the capital project management, contract administration, and fiduciary activities related to complex urban municipal operations. He will be responsible for helping to expand GEI\u2019s flood management and municipal engineering practices across the Eastern United States and elsewhere.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Brian Wolf <\/strong>(B.S.<strong> <\/strong>Mechanical Engineering, &#8217;92)<em> <\/em>joined <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hatchmott.com\/ContentPages\/index.aspx\">Hatch Mott MacDonald<\/a> in Holyoke, MA as a principal project manager. He has experience in project management, compliance monitoring and benchmarking, using key performance indicators, to ensure that any operation is focused on excellence and efficiency, while meeting stakeholder goals.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/aschaschl\">Andrew Schaschl<\/a><\/strong> (B.S. Chemical Engineering, &#8217;84) is the vice president of manufacturing at Covidien\u2019s pharmaceutical unit. With over 26 years of leadership experience across a broad spectrum of functions, he served as assistant vice president of engineering, pharmaceutical operating unit at Pfizer (formerly Wyeth), and as a senior director of facility expansion for manufacturing and process development at Wyeth.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.oce.uri.edu\/facultypages\/stepanishen\/stepanishen.htm\">Peter R. Stepanishen<\/a><\/strong> (M.S. Electrical Engineering, &#8217;66), Ph.D., professor of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.oce.uri.edu\/\">ocean engineering<\/a> at the University of Rhode Island, was presented the Acoustical Society of America\u2019s Trent-Crede Medal in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the science of mechanical vibration and shock. Dr. Stepanishen earned his Ph.D. in engineering acoustics from Pennsylvania State University. He has lectured in England, France and China, and was a visiting professor at Cambridge, Stanford, Scripps Institute of Oceanography and the University of Southampton in England.<\/p>\n<p>Please keep us up to date on your career activities and let your fellow alumni know what you\u2019ve been doing.
