David J. Arthur<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

David J. Arthur (M.S. Chemical Engineering, \u201990), chief executive officer of SouthWest Nanotechnologies (SWeNT), has been appointed to the distinguished Board of Affiliates of the Rice University Professional Science Master’s Program.\u00a0 Arthur has more than 30 years’ experience commercializing products using advanced materials. He joined SouthWest Nanotechnologies in 2005; he is also co-founder of Chasm Technologies.\u00a0 Arthur holds an MBA from Northeastern University and B.S. from Tufts University.<\/p>\n

Karen Isherwood (B.S. Civil Engineering, \u201997), P.E., LEED AP, joined BL Companies in Meriden, CT, as a senior engineer.\u00a0 In this part time role, Isherwood will continue delivering engineering design services through her company as well.\u00a0 She founded Isherwood Civil Engineering in 2010 and serves clients in Connecticut, Massachusetts and Rhode Island.<\/p>\n

Jeffrey Lewis (B.S. Chemical Engineering, \u201983) joined Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson LLP as a partner in the Intellectual Property Litigation Practice in the New York office.\u00a0 Lewis concentrates on patent litigation and trademark matters, as well as other intellectual property and general litigation.\u00a0 A past president of the American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA) and a fellow of the AIPLA and the American Bar Foundation, he received a J.D., cum laude, from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law.<\/p>\n

Arif Mubarok<\/strong><\/p>\n

Arif Mubarok (Ph.D. Materials Science & Engineering, \u201911) joined PPG Industries as a metallurgy research engineer.\u00a0 Previously, he was a senior research metallurgist at Deringer-Ney Inc.\u00a0 As a postdoctoral research associate at UMass Amherst, Mubarok worked with Dr. Joseph Goldstein on research funded by Advance Research Project Agency – Energy (ARPA-E).\u00a0 His Ph.D. dissertation research centered on the synthesis and characterization of bulk metallic glasses and their behavior under sustained deformation.<\/p>\n

Stephen P. O’Mahoney<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Stephen P. O\u2019Mahony<\/strong><\/p>\n

Stephen P. O\u2019Mahony (B.S. Computer Science & Engineering, \u201992), M.D., F.A.C.P., was appointed chief medical information officer at Barnabas Health, New Jersey\u2019s largest integrated health care delivery system.\u00a0 O\u2019Mahony began his academic career at Norwalk Hospital in Connecticut in 1999, eventually becoming the vice president of IT.\u00a0 He received his Medical Degree from the UConn School of Medicine in 1996 and completed his medical residency at New York Presbyterian Hospital\/Cornell Medical Center.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
